@ Question 1: Will Italy beat Germany and the strategies to be used?

Paolo Rossi: Opportunities in Italy are 50 to 50, in my opinion. Germany are physically stronger than us and more cool because no extra time played in the quarterfinals. Italy may have high class players and should try to take the initiative to prevent Germany, winning the game with his extra energy. The Azzurri have to maximize their chances up front.

Question 2: What do you think of the Italian campaign so far and what are your expectations for the semifinal against Germany?

Rossi: Italy have played the best football of the tournament so far. Our midfield with [Andrea] Pirlo, [Daniele] De Rossi, [Ricardo] Montolivo and [Claudio] Marchisio is one of the best in the world. It will be a tough match against Germany, but we know how to beat them and do not like playing against us because we have always won from 1970 to present.

@
Question 3: How do you think Italian performance difference from previous years?

Rossi: Italy have shown great character in the Euro, a feature that was lacking in some previous tournaments. There is no cohesion in the team, it was in 1982.

@
Question 4: What are your thoughts on the bright Pirlo penalty [against England] in a high profile game?

Rossi: Pirlo is a huge player and has composure enough to wait until the last second before kicking the ball. A few players in the world are able to do that and I think a touch of madness that is needed. When the ball crossed the line, he let out a sigh of relief.

@
Question 5: Who is the best striker in the game?

Paolo Rossi: Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are the best by far.

@
Question 6: Do you miss playing with Italy?

Rossi: We really miss him. I have very strong links with the Italian shirt, perhaps more than anyone, because my best days in football came to Italy. When you play for the national team around the country is with you and earn double gives satisfaction. It's a great feeling of belonging.
